High School Games of the Week

All across the country, teams are hunkering down in hopes of earning a spot in their state’s championship. This week is bringing us a number of exciting and competitive games as playoffs continue.

Preview these top matchups and tune in LIVE for another incredible weekend of high school football on the NFHS Network:

1. #1 Lowndes (GA) vs. #14 McEachern (GA)

Lowndes and McEachern both reached the quarterfinals last season, but both failed to make it any further. This season they are back, and back with a vengeance. The two teams are coming into this game after dominating their opponents in the first round of the GHSA 7A playoffs. Both teams boast strong offenses which should present us with an exciting game.

2. #1 Brentwood Academy (TN) vs. #5 McCallie (TN)

Two of the top teams in Tennessee will meet for the second time this season to fight for a spot in this year’s state championship. Last season, Brentwood Academy ended McCallie's playoff run with a 37-29 victory.

This matchup has all the potential to be an instant classic. These two potent offenses can put up points in bunches, so if you're a fan of offense, mark your calendars. Cass Tech has been a trendy upset pick over the #1 team in the state - we'll see if that supplies any extra motivation for West Bloomfield. Either way, this game will be one you want to tune in to.

Allen has dominated Hebron when the two teams have met the past 4 years. The Eagles will take on the Hebron Hawks again in the first round of the UIL playoffs. Both teams have been area ranked all season, so despite Allen’s lofty national ranking, they should expect to be tested.

Lake Zurich has remained undefeated this season as they head into the state semifinals to face Mt. Carmel. Mt. Carmel is coming off an upset win over the #7 team in Illinois, East St. Louis. The winner of this match up will face either #17 Benet Academy or #4 Batavia in the state championship.
