Last week offered a taste, but with more states starting their football season this week, the NFHS Network boasts a FULL slate of games.

We've got Top 10 NATIONALLY-ranked teams in action, interstate showdowns, defending state champions squaring off against one another, and an abundance of top-rated recruits.

So without further ado, we present our TOP 5 Games of the Week:

Two Top-50 programs in the NATION, both coming off state championships, BOTH ranked #1 in their respective states, AND it's a border war! What more could you ask for on a Friday night? The #6 in the country Grayson Rams play host to the #35 Hoover Bucs. Any time you get a chance to watch the #1 team in the country, you should take it. Mater Dei is stacked with talent, but Bishop Amat is no slouch either - and you know they'll be hungry for revenge after the 63-14 drubbing they suffered at the hands of the Monarchs last season.

It's East Coast vs. West Coast in this battle of top 200 nationally-ranked teams! Rush Probst (formerly the coach at Hoover during the MTV show Two-A-Days) has turned Colquitt into an annual state title contender. He's won two in the past three years, and after a controversial win in Georgia's opening weekend Corky Kell Classic, he'll be looking to keep his squad (currently ranked 11th in the state) rolling along. Vista Murrieta comes in at #24 in the California state rankings, and will be looking for an early season road win to kickstart their season.

Players to keep an eye on...

Vista Murrieta:

St. Mary's of Stockton comes in as the #12 team in California and the #74 team in the country. Last season, the Rams ran the Padres out of the building, beating them 63-35 in San Mateo. An experienced Serra team hopes to flip the script in 2017. Win or lose, last year proved that both of these teams are for real, as both won section championships and reached CIF title games.

Players to keep an eye on...

Serra:

Patrick Nunn / Class of 2018 / Washington State Commit - #27 WR in California

St. Mary's:

Max Barth / Class of 2018 / Uncommitted - #10 OT in California
